RICHMOND — Police were searching Monday for suspects and a motive behind a nightclub shooting in which two Lexington men were injured.
Richmond police responded to a call of a disturbance about 1 a.m. Sunday at Planet X nightclub at 122 East Main Street but did not locate a problem, police spokesman Willard Reardon said.
A few minutes later, multiple gunshots were fired as patrons began leaving the club, Reardon said. Two unidentified people — an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, both from Lexington — were shot and taken to Pattie A. Clay Hospital. One man was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the arm. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said. They were then taken to University of Kentucky Hospital.
Witnesses told police the shots were fired from a vehicle that left the scene.
Police do not know whether a fight started inside the club or on the street, Reardon said.
My only comment on this story is regardless of where the two men were from, they were shot. It was suppose to be due to a disturbance earlier or a passing vehicle the gunshots came from?? Did either of the men shot have weapons or instigate a fight inside the night club? A car can’t be charged with the violent act of shooting someone. Did anyone give a description of the car, get a license number, or know the two men who were shot,or who was having a difference of opinion inside the nightclub? Story was rather nonfactual except the men were shot in the leg and one in the buttock?
nah they didnt have any weapons and they werent involved in a fight in the club.. i was there . they got caught with stray bullets . everyone was running and they just happen to get hit..
thats the kinda stuff that makes me not want to go out and have a goodtime.. ppl makin dumb choices over nothin. goin to a club aint worth losin my life so i dont belive im goin out there anymore!
What were a 19 year old and an 18 year old doing at a bar? Richmond is a redneck town where guns rule and crime is getting worse. What a shock that the Richmond police are befuddled!
