An Adair County woman has been charged with abusing a 3-year-old boy by pouring hot candle wax on his leg, state police said.
Eddie Foster called the Kentucky State Police post in Columbia at 3:15 a.m. Friday and said his girlfriend, Angelina D. Kinnett, had abused his son, according to a news release.
A trooper and a social worker investigated and found that someone had placed the boy, Jay D. Foster, in a bathtub and poured hot wax on his leg from the knee down, according to the release.
He was taken to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville for treatment.
Police charged Kinnett, 26, with first-degree criminal abuse.
Police are still investigating but don’t yet know the reason for the alleged attack, said Trooper Billy Gregory, spokesman for the Columbia KSP post.

what a waste she is. it takes a real woman to burn a child, doesn’t it? she must have been upset ’cause the pantry was out of twinkies.
This man a father, a parent stood up for his child and turn her sorry bee hind in.
Now if the boyfriend, who did this the mother would not turn him in.
I find that women will let their boyfriends or husbands beat, emotional, sexual abuse their children, but won’t turn them in, but if a man, a father’s wife, or girlfriend abused their child (ren) the fathers turn them in.
So it seems there is child abuse in Adair county after all. For years the social services workers in Columbia were reporting that there was none. If the father had called social services instead of the police one of their brilliant social workers would have been able to keep the paperwork off their desks by ignoring it. But, thankfully the police were notified. It’s the only way to get things done there.
I only hope the judge has more concern for children than that bunch in Columbia.
“Now if the boyfriend, who did this.” I don’t think it said anything about a boyfriend that did this, and there may be more to this story than is being told here. It shouldn’t have been done, you don’t wax a 3 year olds legs that is for sure and just wondering if it might have been an accident and a father wanting custody here?
“So it seems there is child abuse in Adair county after all.” If you think that is something to be proud of that is really just your ignorance showing. “For years the social services workers in Columbia were reporting that there was none.” Perhaps that was what their best judgement call was and perhaps their really was none? Perhaps this is not actually abuse either? If it is that is really terrible, nothing to be proud of. “If the father had called social services instead of the police one of their brilliant social workers would have been able to keep the paperwork off their desks by ignoring it.” What you are trying to do is vilify this mother, what your ulterior motive might be I am not really sure? “But, thankfully the police were notified. It’s the only way to get things done there.” I imagine that the charges will be explored and dealt with, when the nurse killed her own grandchild the grandjury let her out of it. “I only hope the judge has more concern for children than that bunch in Columbia.” I only hope that the truth is actually found and if this little boy was purposely abused even if there is no motive that he can be protected from it being done to him ever again. I am wanting to say that since there is no motive, that it might be an accident, and that is bad enough. A three year old is old enough to get things such as hot wax the mom might have been shaving with and do something like this to themselves if they had the right chance? I just hope that they asked the little boy some questions and didn’t coach him in what was being said, if he said his mom did it and it was asked properly guess she needs to go to jail for a while?
Anonymous, what are you on, you are not making good sense, you are rambling.
This is so sad. Why are parents abusing their children? These are your Angels. You should love these little fellows and provide safety. I was always taught to love and care for your child. A child looks for the mother and dad to provide love when they are hurt.God what is coming of this world? If this mother treated this child this way then I believe they should hand cuff her and pour hot wax from head to toe. If the laws wopuld change these parents would stop killing and abusing. Bring back Hanging on the Court House Steps. This would stop alot of Child Abuse.
i think she needs to be held in a tub and pour hot wax on her. Then take the candle and ram it up in her to put it out. These people kill me there bless by god with a child and then treat them the way they do
Boy this person must really be DUMB or on something STRONG.
No one should be this stupid.
No wonder he is anonymous.
anonymous, your comment is bs and longer than the story its self. i have to agree with Jerry your rambling.
“Anonymous, what are you on, you are not making good sense, you are rambling…Boy this person must really be DUMB or on something STRONG. No one should be this stupid. No wonder he is anonymous.” Not my rambling, not drugs either, and your inanity is compellingly stupid, my points were clear as a whistle and you didn’t like them, so perhaps that is why I posted anonymously? Does that really matter, since I have a right to do that and my points will make sense to anyone that wants to read them properly. Do you really deserve this much time with your lame comments? Perhaps not, but anyway?
anonymous,it said hot wax not that she was giving the child a leg wax stupid go back and read what you wrote.and rethink that comment.
What I said in more simple terms is that a child that age can do almost anything if you ever look away for just one second, if she was waxing her own legs with her leg wax or getting ready to and it was hot and she wasn’t thinking and stepped out for barely a minute then that would have been an accident. To do it on purpose would have been a different thing, and maybe she did? That is terrible even if it was an accident, yes it is, and that doesn’t just excuse it, it means that she may have been inexperienced and made a mistake she must learn from. It means it might have been a stupid, very stupid, accident of some kind and she is now being vilinized over it. “A trooper and a social worker investigated and found that “someone” had…poured hot wax on his leg from the knee down” I stand by what I said, “A three year old is old enough to get things such as hot wax the mom might have been shaving with and do something like this to themselves if they had the right chance meaning it was on a low enough shelf?” If not and the dad seen it, then he is the good guy for reporting her I suppose? Perhaps he should have taken it away from her before she got it that far over his leg? That should be left up to the people involved. They should have asked the little boy what happened I think? I know it might have scared him to be asked by a police, but done in the right way they might have found out the truth, he might have said, mom, dad, or I did it. Perhaps not? I don’t know what happened for real, do you, were you there?
It is my sincere impression that some of these people making comments either have no children of their own or they have possibly some ulterior motives? It isn’t all “abuse”, just because it can be made to look as if it is, if it was just an accident that is a waste of good resources. In all kinds of ways, really. I just hope that the truth is found out?
