"Prosecutors said at the time of Chapman’s plea in 2004 that Chapman attacked the family because he was upset with Marksberry for telling Chapman’s girlfriend to end a relationship with him. But Chapman has never explained the attack and may not before the lethal three-drug cocktail is administered."

This is absolutely not true, and never has been. This "explanation" for what happened was a hypothesis by an unnamed neighbor on the day this crime took place. For six years now, lazy journalists continue to cite this as the reason this attack took place, when it's not even true. Now, they are even attributing the statement to "prosecutors" even though no one bothered to ever call our office to confirm this statement.

People writing comments should actually read the article. The suit has nothing to do with Mr. Chapman and was not filed on his behalf. It was filed to allow the citizens of Kentucky to comment on the procedure used to kill people in their name before anyone is killed in their name. In other words, democracy. Perhaps Ms. Sparks should learn about it.
