LONDON, Ky. — A former state trooper has chosen to not contest charges against him in the beating of a man in southeastern Kentucky.
The Times Tribune of Corbin reported James Phillip Moore entered an Alford plea to a charge of fourth-degree assault - a plea which does not admit guilt but acknowledges the state has sufficient evidence for a conviction.
At a hearing on Monday in London, Moore pleaded guilty to a charge of official misconduct.
