WINCHESTER — The case of a Winchester mother who has been charged with murder in the death of her 4-year-old daughter was waived Wednesday to a grand jury.

Jessilyn Robinson was charged Sept. 25 with murder after investigators said her 4-year-old daughter died of abuse four months ago instead of a fall.

Jessilyn Robinson was charged Sept. 25 with murder after investigators said her 4-year-old daughter died of abuse four months ago instead of a fall.

Wearing an orange jumpsuit, Jessilyn C. Robinson, 34, appeared in Clark District Court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.

Robinson was arrested Sept. 25, accused of killing her adopted daughter, Faith Raeanne Robinson, who died of a closed-head injury on May 29.

Jessilyn Robinson told paramedics on May 28 that Faith fell in the bathtub at her McClure Road home, Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue has said. Faith was initially taken to Clark Regional Medical Center and then to University of Kentucky Hospital, where she died the next day. Doctors said the injuries were inconsistent with a fall, Perdue said.

Because Faith had no outward injuries, deputies with the sheriff’s department waited until they received the official medical examiner’s report on her autopsy before arresting Robinson on Sept. 25.

The medical examiner’s report stated that Faith had suffered a subdural hematoma — a traumatic brain injury — and retinal hemorrhaging, which indicated that she had been shaken violently, Perdue said.

I don’t believe this mom is guilty of what she is being charged with, and if she is innocent and gets locked up for it and whatever, that isn’t fair to her. Has anyone ever seen her violently shake this kid? Who? Where, what, how, why, and when and what is their motivation for speaking up here? This will be interesting to watch and see how it comes out. Sad that the mom may have done this if she did, sad that she is charged with this if she didn’t do it, but my feeling is that she didn’t and that they are wrong, sorry about that. We need to remember she isn’t guilty just because they say she did it, she is innocent until actually proven guilty, the doctor in this case may be wrong and who and what kind of defense and support does she have access too?

One more thing, remember doctors are only human they can make mistakes too and never admit it until years later or until they are being ordered to a trial and then they will use the thing of well I made a mistake to get out of whatever their own wrongdoing is that makes them less culpable, if they admit being wrong even then or not is another thing, and that is a bad deal. It makes more sense to me that the little girl fell and hurt herself. Guess we will all wait and see?
