Man accused of sexually abusing family pet; cocker spaniel recovering at animal shelter

LOUISVILLE - A Louisville man is jailed, charged with torturing a family member’s dog. Authorities say it may not have been the first time he’s been accused of that type of behavior.

A spokeswoman at Metro Animal Control says its the first time she can remember in her 5-year history at the agency that someone’s been charged with sexually abusing an animal, but the person reporting the crime says the same man may have injured another of their pets.

  1. 1 Bill

Typical behavior for a Louisville resident and Cardinal fan.

  2. 2 ellen

Barbaric animal cruelty and serious mental illness somehow doesn’t mesh with city/team sports rivalry. Not funny.

  3. 3 Misty

Even though this a disturbing story, the first readers response was the funniest thing I have heard in a while. GOOD JOB BILL!

  4. 4 Dummy Davie

Yeah those cardinal fans really love to pork their pets in the back side thats all their good for

  5. 5 J. Gaines

Well, I agree. I mean, one would have to be fairly ill to actually BE a Louisville fan and think that a Cardinal could ever kill a Wildcat. But, ya know, I’m just sayin’….

  6. 6 Alex

This definitely doesn’t help the stereotype that all Kentuckians mate with animals. I swear that if he’s ever accused of incest, I’ll never claim Kentucky as my home state again.

  7. 7 Shelley

May be typical behavior for a Louisville resident and cardinal fan….but at least their football team doesn’t suck. which is waaaay more than I can say for UK. Whoaaa…and wait until basketball season…yikes!

All I can say is children and pets look to us for love, care, and safety. Any one that can abuse child or little pet is a monster! Just like the one who killed those poor children and almost killed thier Mom. IT IS JUST PLAIN EVIL! I have no respect for anyone like this and there is nothing funny about it! How can anyone fine humur in this. I do not aprove of such inhumane behavior in sport or other wise. I agree this is not only sick.. it is cruel. This person needs to know what it is like to go thou the same pain he put that poor dog. People like this needs some serious help.

  9. 9 Marie E

This person is just sick….I mean who could ever be so hard up to do this to a animal. He needs to be put somewhere so he can’t hurt anything again.

  10. 10 tyler

yes this person is def a sick individual and deserves the most harsh punishment possible fry the son of a bitch i would get a kick out of that

  11. 11 Ida

This is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever heard of in my life. Some people are crazy!

  12. 12 Jenny

Well put him in a stall with a stallion doing the same to him see if he likes it then or tie him to stakes in the ground put honey on his twig and berries and add fire ants

  13. 13 John

this is a BAAAAAAd man - it MOOOOOOves me to tears

  14. 14 Susie

Frankly, I’m a big sports fan. It’s disturbing that anyone would make a comment that would relate sports to this horrific incident. How unentertaining.

  15. 15 Dean

This story is beyond terrible. It made me sick to my stomach. This man should NEVER be around animals again. He is obviously very troubled. Thank God for the people who help these pets.

As an aside, there is nobody who loves U.K. more than I do. But, it is unbelievably wrong to make fun of this story in ANY way. I bet these folks wouldn’t think it so funny if this had happened to one of their pets, or they knew someone who was a perpetrator of a terrible act like this. Some things are off limits.

  16. 16 Roger

I agree with you Dean. It just shows the caliber of most UK fans. That’s all they think about. Blue this and blue that. What in the world does bestiality have to do with sports? Unless that’s your game Bill. Oh, by the way I understand the guy is a big wildcat fan!!

  17. 17 Lindsey

This is disturbing, what’s wrong with this man?
And Bill, you are a moron, beastiality (sp?) has NOTHING to do with sports, that’s beyond stupid to compare the two.

  18. 18 Darla

I’ve been a Wildcat Fan all my life and I graduated from UofL. I reside in Shelby county but work in Louisville. I am proud to be a Kentucky girl but I know that those very disturbing statements by Bill, Dummie Dave, J Gaines, and Misty are just a poor reflection of only a small number of true blue KY folks. Most of us are decent with some degree of intelligence that prevents from even thinking along similiar lines as mentioned by those idiots. They need to get a life! They are a disgrace to the KY Wildcat fan club! I’m appalled that this paper would even print their comments on their website.

  19. 19 Diane

Thank you, Darla, for that intelligent Kentucky wisdom! As a wildcat fan born and bred, I am appalled that someone could mistreat an animal in such a horrific fashion and that a wildcat fan could make such a statement! I hope they put this creep away forever because if he could do this to a defenseless animal, he would think nothing of hurting a child!

  20. 20 Donna

    O M G !!! What a sick thing to do.

  21. 21 Shelley

My goodness, what an atrocious thing for someone to do. I also agree with Darla…terrible representation of the Big Blue Nation. I am a die-hard UK fan, and I dislike U of L immensely. However, the two have nothing to do with one another…this is a sickening piece of news…no need to disgrace our basketball program, it’s fans, etc with such idiotic comments.

  22. 22 swolleness

While this is a sick thing to do, I think Bill was making a joke and commenting on the fact this is not real news. This is a stupid news story, it perpetuates the stereotype that Kentuckians are inbred hicks that are cousin F*****s and now we are apparently all into f*****g animals this story was in poor taste and really shines a positive light on the Commonwealth.

  23. 23 Michael

I think this gentleman is being persecuted. He is the true victim here. His civil rights are being denied; he should be allowed to marry his dog. It is the owner of the pet who will not give the bride away in matrimony that is the oppressive, Hitler like dictator.

  24. 24 kathy

I can’t believe anyone could find it in themselves to make jokes about this. A person who can inflict such pain, power, and control over another living being is disconnected from the world. This is how serial killers are born. The thought of an animal being raped by this creature is an abomination. We have to be aware of the pain and fear the dog felt, as well as the fact that if a human is being hurt in a home an animal is probably being hurt, and vice-versa. Have the other family members been through a pshyc evaluation? Have others been molested by this beast? I would love to see people such as the dog rapist punished to the fullest extent of the law, with possible new laws written, just to stop this from happening again.

  25. 25 journalists

What kind of sick newspaper would print this crap? It is crazy how you people publicize any sick thing you can and then leave a place for nuts to comment on it….. I will stick with the sports section for any news I read.

  26. 26 Great Dane

What kind of dog was it? A Cock-er Spaniel, that figures. Isn’t that what he did or is that the type of dog

  27. 27 Anthony

Probably a Kentucky Wildcat fanatic that hates U of L so he took it out on the Cardinal fans’ dog. UK fans live in rural areas, and the dog is probably the best that he could get since most rural uk fans are slackers with no teeth or morals. I’ll bet most rural UK fans have had relations with farm animals.
