Police identify 3 found dead in burning home

The Associated Press

INDEPENDENCE — have identified three people found dead inside a northern Kentucky home where a fire broke out and say all suffered from gunshot wounds.

Independence assistant police chief David Nichols said the dead are 22-year-old Jessica Padilla (puh-DEE’-uh) and her parents, 45-year-old Lori Padilla and 43-year-old Seaward Padilla.

Nichols told The Kentucky Enquirer on Wednesday that police don’t yet know a cause of death, but all three were shot.

Nichols said Jessica Padilla’s 2-year-old daughter was found unharmed and rescued from the fire Tuesday night, but emergency responders realized immediately afterward that they were being shot at from the home. He said the victims were found after the gunfire stopped.

Emergency crews were responding to a 911 call made from the house by a man just before 10 p.m.

What a bizarre story. So it was probably a murder-suicide? What a shame that this world will always have crazed lunatics in it.
