RICHMOND — Authorities are investigating three small fires on EKU’s campus Monday as potential arsons.
Two were found in the Dupree Hall dorm. The first happened at 11:50 a.m. after someone threw an object that was on fire down a trash chute, said EKU spokesman Marc Whitt. The building was evacuated during the incident, the Richmond Fire Department said. At 1:51 p.m., books were set on fire in a stairwell.
A third fire was reported six hours after that in a stairwell of the Powell Student Center.
Investigators think the fires are related.
Anyone with information about the fires should call EKU campus police at (859) 622-2821.
