A man walking his dog was struck about 8:20 p.m. Saturday on Harrodsburg Road. Lexington police were investigating the accident, which happened in front of the Springs Inn at 2020 Harrodsburg Road, across from Turfland Mall. Lt. Garry Sennett said the accident reconstruction unit had been called to the scene and some lanes of Harrodsburg Road were closed for the investigation. The unidentified man was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital with life-threatening head injuries; his dog was killed. The driver of the older-model Buick was uninjured and remained at the scene, Sennett said.
