Residents were evacuated from a street in Lexington’s Cardinal Valley neighborhood Wednesday night. A woman had shot herself inside, Lt. Edward Hart said.
Police surrounded a house on Sutton Place near Chantilly Street after an officer investigating a missing car heard a gunshot while he was standing at a bedroom door. The officer left the home, taking another resident with him.
It was later determined that the woman had shot herself, and residents were let back in the neighborhood after midnight, Hart said.
