Political corruption is everywhere not just in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. Perhaps if you had chosen to use correct english your comment would have been more meaningful. “…up in them mountains”…The word “them” refers to people not mountains. But if you feel it is necessary to try to sound stupid then why not say “Hit must be sumpin’ in that dar’ water in them dar’ mountains” because you only managed to make yourself sound like an uneducated, close minded, naive person. You are surrounded by political corruption regardless where you reside.

Nothing to do with the water. It’s more a conditioned acceptance of this type of corruption that have people imtimidated into remaining silent. When you can’t trust any of your authority figures, that’s exactly who you trust - nobody. There are signs that people are getting a little tired of this sort of thing. But it will take some outside help to really clean house the way it should be done. Let’s hope the “higher ups” these corrupt individuals run to when they need bailing out will keep out of it this time.
