One of the attorneys accused of taking money from clients in a multi-million dollar diet-drug settlement case is out of jail. Shirley Cunningham, 52, was released on bond from the Boone County jail on Wednesday.

He had been held in custody for more than a year after a federal judge had set his bond at $45 million. Last Friday, the bond was reset to $1.25 million.

Another attorney in the case, William Joseph Gallion remained in custody on Wednesday evening. His bond was reset last week to $2.5 million from $52 million.

A third attorney charged in the case was acquitted at a trial earlier this year.

THIS IS A JOKE!!!! THE JUDGE SHOULD HAVE NEVER OF LET MILLS BE RELEASED AND KEEP THE OTHER TWO THE STUPID JURY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE TO MAKE A RULING ON ALL THREE AT THE SAME TIME. THE JURY IS JUST PLUM STUPID WHAT PART OF STEALUNG DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND !!!! THESE MEN SHOULD PAY BACK WHAT THEY STOLE AND THEY DID STEAL IT FROM THE CLIENTS AFTER THE DRUG COMPANY TOLD THEM THAT IT ALL WENT TO THE CLIENTS!!!!! WHAT PART OF THAT DID THE JURY NOT UNDERSTAND ???? WE NEED NOT TO HAVE HIGH PROFILE CASES IN BOONE COUNTY!!!! THESE PEOPLE NEED A CLASS IN WHAT STEALING MEANS. ARE THEY SHELTERED OR WHAT? THESE ARE PROBABLY THE SAME PEOPLE THAT WOULD LET A DRUNK GO FREE AFTER HE HAS KILLED SOMEONE. WHAT PART OF YOU PAY FOR YOUR CRIME DO YOU NOT GET!!!

All caps is the same as shouting. It is annoying and rude. Because of that, people tend to block out what you are saying so it is also not an effective way to communicate.

I worked for Shirley Cunningham 12 years ago. It’s hard for me to believe he was involved in taking money from the injured. He was the kindest man I ever knew. He was always helping others in need. I believe there is more to this situation. If one of the accused was set free, there must be something that we are not being told. Shirley, I will keep you in my prayers.
