Bandit robs Lexington postal carrier

Federal authorities and Lexington police are looking for a bandit who robbed a mailman at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

According to preliminary reports, the postal worker was delivering mail in the Woodhill area about 10 a.m. when the gunman stopped him and took his wallet.

Authorities are seeking a black man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, wearing a brown hoodie and camouflage shorts.

Since the robbery involved the mail, it becomes a federal case.
